What The Implications Of Constant Heartburn Are

POST BY : adrian |

Understanding acid reflux

When acids from the stomach go up to the esophagus it results in heartburn. There are various causes of heartburn and many of these can actually be prevented simply by correctly managing meals or just wearing the correct clothing. However, constant heartburn can be a real cause for concern as this may possibly be the symptom of or could result in a more serious condition.

Heartburn can be a painful condition that can recur or may only happen once in a while. The pain can usually start at the sternum or the middle of the base of the ribcage and radiate up to the neck or jaw line. The pain from heartburn can be easily compared to a fiery feeling in the middle of the chest or a heart attack.

Common Causes Of Heartburn

For those who do not suffer constant heartburn, their heartburn can be caused by the position you are in after eating, clothing which are too tight around the stomach region and eating too much acidic or spicy foods. Constant heartburn has other causes which are sometimes not related to the causes of ordinary heartburn.

Most of the common causes of heartburn can be prevented which is why GERD can be prevented in some cases. Although, some cases of GERD are truly due to some physical disorder that can not be prevented.

The Concern About Constant Heartburn

One of the common symptoms of GERD or Gastroesophagal Reflux disease is constant heartburn. GERD has the tendency to turn into a nasty experience if it is left untreated, and in fact GERD is the result of long term heartburn or acid reflux. While there are a variety of reasons for acquiring gastroesophageal reflux disease, the main cause is attributed to constant heartburn.

There are many causes of constant heartburn; these causes include disorders of the sphincter, impaired expulsion of gastric acid from the stomach, too much muscle relaxation around the sphincter and a hiatus hernia. Another cause of constant heartburn is the damaged esophagus that makes it more sensitive to acid reflux. You can suspect that you have gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD if these symptoms are present, constant heartburn, difficulty swallowing, chronic cough, a hoarse voice, chronic earache and nausea. There are other symptoms of GERD but constant heartburn will be the most prevalent.

Although constant heartburn is considered a verified symptom of GERD, sometimes it can actually be the cause of GERD itself. You can avoid the onset of gastroesophageal disease by following a few simple steps such as being vigilant of your health habits by making the necessary adjustments to your diet, clothing and your lifestyle.

Are You Worried About Acid Reflux ?

POST BY : adrian |

acid reflux is something we tend to hear about a lot these days. And yet, many people still aren’t clear about what this condition really is. For instance, did you know that acid reflux is often mistaken for heart burn? Did you know that children and infants suffer from it as well? The best way to treat this condition is to know exactly what it is.

GERD

acid reflux is the common name for the condition known as Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease or GERD. This occurs when there is a problem between the stomach and esophagus. When you eat, the food travels down your esophagus and enters the stomach, which is then closed off by something known as the esophageal sphincter. Normally, the foods, liquids and stomach acids stay in the stomach- but for a person with acid reflux, the stomach contents will re-enter the esophagus.

While the stomach is specially designed to deal with the acids that are produced during digestion, the esophagus is not. As a result, this ‘reflux’ can cause a burning sensation along the chest, throat and sometimes, the back of the mouth. It is this burning sensation that often leads people to mistakenly believe that they have heartburn.

What’s The Difference?

So how can you tell if you’ve got acid reflux or heartburn? Firstly, acid reflux will likely appear more than twice a week. It will also be accompanied by other symptoms like chest pains, dry cough and bad breath. You will also have a feeling that something is stuck in your throat and you may experience hoarseness when you awaken in the morning. Other symptoms include a sensation of being choked and trouble in swallowing.

While these are the most common symptoms, it’s best to see a health professional to get professional diagnosis. Most patients will have to take acid-suppressive therapy in order to diagnose the condition. In some cases, additional tests such as an upper endoscopy, barium x-rays, Esophageal Manometry or an Esophageal PH Monitor Examination may also be prescribed.

If this condition is not treated quickly, it could lead to complications in the esophagus and stomach. Dealing with Acid Reflux quickly will put your health back on track and make life a lot easier for you.

Why Pregnancy can Cause Severe Heartburn

POST BY : adrian |

A pregnant womans body will see a lot of changes occur during the pregnancy. While this is a very exciting time there are issues including acid reflux that can make it difficult to enjoy all aspects of it. There is an old wives tale that pregnant women with acid reflux means the child will be born with a full head of hair. However, the truth if it is that acid reflux is the result of changes in the body due to additional hormones.

The production of stomach acid can be produced due to changes in hormones. Eating more while pregnant is not uncommon and this can result in more acid being produced. The hormone increase and extra food intake combine resulting in acid refluxing into the esophagus. Having to deal with acid reflux is a thing nearly 1/4 of pregnant woman fight every day. Constant heartburn means sleeping is not easy at night and daily routines seem that much harder.

Growth of the baby results in more pressure on the stomach. To much pressure allows more acid into the esophagus causing even worse acid reflux. That is why the majority of pregnant women find that they suffer from acid reflux during the last few months of it. Effective treatment for pregnant mothers is limited due to anything consumed can affect the baby. Try avoiding prescription medication for acid reflux.

It is possible to take antacids to treat mild cases of acid reflux during pregnancy. According to extensive research results antacids will not harm the baby. Pregnant women do need to be careful though as they contain large amounts of sodium. The sodium can bring swelling to the legs and ankles due to retaining fluids.

Every woman wants her baby to be as healthy as possible and that is understandable. The more natural the way you find to fight acid reflux the better during pregnancy. While consuming plenty of fresh fruits is important some of them may increase your risk of acid reflux. Avoid those that contain large amounts of acid in large quantities. Grapefruit, oranges, and lemons come under this category.

To avoid hunger and for better digestion eating six smaller meals is better than eating three large ones. Large meals are harder to digest so its easier to cope with smaller ones. Staying hydrated can be achieved by drinking a large amount of water during the day. Foods digest easier with an extra intake of fluids into the body throughout the day. Avoid eating in the last hours before you go to bed at night or you may end up suffering throughout the night with acid reflux.

Elevate your head and shoulders when you sleep as well. When you rest during the day or at night in bed this will help stop the acid from entering the esophagus. There are special pillows for this or you can just stack two of them. One tip you can employ is to elevate your bed at the head stacked on bricks or a board. The beds different elevation will aid you significantly when you add a few inches.

Try to lay on your left side too as this will help to get the acid reduced in your stomach. By lying on your back or right side the acid will increase. It is not always comfortable to lie on your side during pregnancy but getting into the routine will be of great help. It will certainly help you to avoid suffering from acid reflux.

Following such guidelines will help you offset acid reflux during pregnancy. This is a great time for a mom so keep those negative aspects of it away. Important things to do now are to relax and rest because you may not be able to once the baby is born. If you continue to suffer from acid reflux on a regular basis during your pregnancy make sure you share this information with your doctor. Severe heartburn can cause damage to the esophagus lining which in turn needs more treatment which can be alleviated by your doctor.

Kangen Water and Children - Unbiased Recommendations

POST BY : adrian |

Children, we need to look after them, especially now.

Kids,

We have to really look after them, don’t we, but are we?

Let me explain it like this. Many maladies we adults have been putting up for years and years, are now affecting the children. Did you know that children are suffering with such a thing as acid reflux and that is not as it should be. That normally comes in your late twenties not when you are 12. I want you to view a video about the colon, it’s a bit gory but when you seen enough turn it off. It’s important you see it. When the page loads, click on movies, then on colon. Let’s take it little further to understand.

Victims of a Toxic Colon.

Have you ever considered this simple question: Are you clean inside? We shower, brush our teeth and wash our hair on a daily basis, but we tend to ignore cleansing our insides until some form of disease sends us a wake-up call. Believe it or not, our insides, especially the colon which functions as the «sewer system» of our body, also requires regular cleaning. Constipation, parasites, IBS, gas, bloating, stomach pain, chronic fatigue, digestive problems can all be signs of a toxic colon.

Don’t be a victim, find out the truth about colon cleansing and how it can help you.

Do you re-call? Both John Wayne and Elvis Presley, on examination after their deaths each had over 40lbs of compacted waste in their colons and had been carrying this around for years. Even the wealthy did not understand.

Why Is Colon Cleansing So Crucial?

We are all exposed to thousands of toxins and chemicals on a daily basis at work, in the home, through the air we breathe, our food and water supply, and the use of pharmaceutical drugs. In addition, we are eating more sugar and processed foods than ever before in human history and regularly abuse our bodies with various stimulants and sedatives.

Lets get back to the Children.

When I said we were not looking after them as we should, I meant it. Let’s take just one thing we are allowing, we allow them to drink so-called soft drinks and then we allow them to drink a type of drink called Power Aide or Gator aide.

These drinks are so damaging to their health we must get them to stop…

Important piece of information. In order for the Child to bring his/her pH level back to where it should be after drinking a power aide drink they would have to drink 32 glasses of Kangen water.

To learn more about Kangen Water please read the following.

History of Kangen water.

Kangen Water has been used in all major Hospitals in Japan for over 40 years. Japan has one thing in mind, they work on prevention, whereas here in North America we concentrate on treatment.

That is one of the main reasons, we are Number 37 in longevity, and Japan is Number 1.

An example of why prevention is better than treatment.

Visit any drug store, and take a look at the shelves covered with antacid pills. There are so many different remedies.

I dont know if you realize, this is a 3 billion dollar business. 3 billion; maybe this will give you an idea why it remains a 3 billion dollar business.

Why not find a remedy, the Japanese found a treatment, Kangen water does the job.

Here are some of the reasons, we are treating our bodies completely wrong.

One reason, we are now drinking bottled water. Bottled water, we are told is much better than tap water. But is it? We thought we were doing the right thing. Sorry, but this water is acidic. We do our best to drink the water we believed was right for us, we were educated that this was right and it is not. More than 75% is tap water, which has had the dangerous chlorine removed, yet it is still acidic.

Well it is just not safe for us or our family.

It is said, 45, million gallons of oil are used to make these bottles each year, and billions of those bottles are been placed in our landfills, then, they take a thousand years to disintegrate. What a terrible environment disaster.

Our children are making a terrible mistake drinking colas and power drinks, it is not right to do. As a teenager, did you ever recall a friend of yours dying of cancer? Yet today it is the highest cause of children’s deaths in North America.

Cancer finds it is hard to establish itself in an alkaline body, however an acidic body is a breeding ground for so many illnesses.

It is so very important to understand, an acid body is the main reason we all suffer from so many different maladies.

Please tell others, please don’t let them suffer, for they can be helped.

Should you know of anyone who has one of the maladies mentioned above, please ask them to listen to the testimonials. We ask you to give them the URL of this site, as we know we could help them. Please do this as we all know how they suffer, even if it’s acid reflux or something which makes them daily read acne skin care reviews. The suffering with that can be devastating.

Acid Reflux Disease Control

POST BY : Ady |

There are several steps to take in the cure of acid reflux disease but the first, which we will be looking at here, is a change in lifestyle. If you are one of these folk who finds it difficult to diet, quit smoking etc. don’t worry, its a lot easier to cut something out when the alternative is painful discomfort!

Right now you may only be experiencing nothing more than discomfort but without making lifestyle changes to get your acid reflux disease under control your acid reflux symptoms will become worse and in the long term can be harmful.

In order to get rid of the lingering symptoms that can sometimes be a part of reflux, such as stomach pain, slight headaches or hoarseness, you will want to make sure that you reduce your stress level as much as possible. You can do this may making sure that you enjoy yourself with friends and family by taking time out from work a few times a week.

You should also make sure that you are getting your exercise in every week. Walking, riding a bike and jogging are all great ways to make sure that your acid reflux disease doesn’t flare up too often and taking up activities like yoga and meditation are good ways to relax your mind and body as well.

When you go out for a meal wear loose clothes as tight ones aggravate the discomfort caused by acid reflux disease. Make sure the belt you are wearing as a few notches left so you can slacken it off if need be.

You are going to need to cut down on the alcohol as well as it is known to aggravate acid reflux and if you smoke you are simply aiding the acid reflux disease in eroding your esophagus so you need to cut it out straight away. Quitting smoking will also help you regain the strength in your heart which will aid your recovery.

There is also no getting away from the fact that you are going to have to make some changes to your eating habits if you are to get your acid reflux disease under control. First thing you will need to do is cut out the heavy foods such as Italian pasta based dishes and fried foods.

If you find your attacks come after almost all types of meals start snacking through the day rather than sitting down to a large breakfast/ evening meal. Small snacks will obviously digest much quicker and so lower the risk of an acid reflux disease attack. After eating try to keep active by taking a 20 minute walk or at the minimum at least keep upright, never lie down immediately after a meal.
